Over the last couple decades, the Islander MR3’s cork drag has probably caught more salmon than any other system off the coast of British Columbia…And for good reason. The properties of our drag ensure that when even the biggest chinook goes for a run, you have enough stopping power to slow it down and enough smoothness to apply consistent fish fighting pressure.
Large Arbor For Quick Retrieve
The MR3’s spool features a large arbor which increases your retrieval rate so that when that torpedo makes a run at the boat you’ve got the pick up to stay on it. The design also eliminates the need for backing while still providing you with enough capacity for the longest of runs.
Interchangeable Retrieve
For all the lefties out there who are sick of fishing ‘backwards’ the MR3 is your reel. With a simple procedure, you can reel your reel your way.

The laser engraving process permanently etches the anodized finish without fully penetrating the coating to ensure the finish’s anti-corrosive properties are maintained. The process produces a white finish—we cannot engrave in colour.

Warranty
Limited Two Year Warranty
Islander offers a limited 2-year warranty against manufacturer defects. For a period of two years after the date of purchase, Islander Reels warrants this reel against any failure due to defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is valid only if the reel has been cleaned and maintained according to the Maintenance Instructions. This warranty applies to the original purchaser only. This warranty does not cover normal wear, misuse, or loss. Nor does this warranty cover damage due to: improper use or improper assembly, improper/inadequate cleaning or improper/inadequate maintenance.
Cautionary Note: It is recommended that mono-filament line be removed from the line cavity of the spool every once in a while to relax the line and remove pressure from the spool walls.

Purchased my MR3 not too long ago and it is an amazing reel. First time I was out I hooked a nice fish and got to do a live test. It has a very smooth spool, the drag system is great, and the quality is fantastic. I sent them an email and they contacted me directly about what would be the best fit for the type of fishing I would be doing. They have great service and it was really nice being able to talk back and forth with them about any questions I had. They got me set up with the MR3 in Slate colour. I just placed an order for a second one and I am really excited for it to show up. I would recommend this reel to anyone that was thinking about purchasing a new reel.
